Barwick House School

A Memory of Barwick.

I was at this place and it was a hell hole Windows locked shut in bedrooms what a fire hazard
Had to strip down to your pants at night were not allowed to have your stuff in case you run away at night or took fags upstairs and it made it easier for the house fathers during the night as they had less clothing to take of you If you know want i mean . BAD TIMES HAD BY MOST I THINK even being locked in the cooler for days werent good with a bucket to ---- in and only a small window for light four inches thick so you could not see any thing

But yes we did have some good times there i will admit some was slave labour i now know but was fun , building the swimming pool gym sea cadets boating oh and trips out on a smelly bus where we were not allowed to mix with the public if you could find any on DARTMORE LOL .

Never mind i survived and have got my family and friends and my own business

All the very best to all that i knew at school apart from the house fathers and one teacher and P/W

My name is Robert mason,I was at that piss pot of a place when i was 14, the house parents had a job to do trying to keep some sort of order amongst us, the bullying was horrendous, les Peters,mr Carter, but to name a few was absolutely fantastic, that fantastic man les Peters deserves a medal, the system was absolutely fucked up, stripped to my pants and locked away in the cellar for days and nights for running away, how can or could you do that to a child?

I was there 1973-76. Yes it was a shit hole and the way i saw some of the kids treated was horrific.
That is all any of us were kids and for us kids to have to endure some of those times should not of been allowed.

i was there in 77-79 i remember the dorm fights,the cells,smoking behind the boat house,shoplifting on days out to cheddar gorge lol,forced to do sea cadets,the blacks used to have there own room used to drag ya in there and try and make ya dance or beat the fuck outta ya lol who remembers celia mrs grays grand-daughter she was fuckin fit worked up the stables
