More about this scene
Moving north to the end of Milsom Street, we see George Street, another good street laid out around 1761. Designed by the younger Wood in the 1760s, York House Hotel has descended to a Slug and Lettuce theme pub and Travelodge. It is now called York Buildings, and a recent stone Doric portico replaces the ornate glazed entrance canopy.
