My family the Smiths lived at Pollocks cottages down the Faggs road and when I was born in 1942 we lived there till about 1950 when we moved to the houses opposite where the fire station is now because of the building of the causeway. I lived in Welwyn Avenue from August 1939 until the mid-sixties.
I have written a biography of my father (the Lapidary) which contains many early memories (and characters) of those days in Bedfont.

Is Southfield infants school still on bedfont lane I was there in 1959 then when we moved to peacock Ave I joined fairholme juniors my teacher was called miss Germainy I think does anyone remember!.
