More about this scene
A splendid array of 1920s motor cars occupy the market place in this view looking west. At the right, behind the rather fine 18th-century churchyard gate piers, is the second Corn Exchange of 1872; the pub to its right, the Saracen's Head, now the Orchid, was rebuilt in 1913. At the far left is the hipped roof of Waterhouse's 1881 Shire Hall.
