The Place I Call Home
A Memory of Belvedere.
I was brought up in Upper Belvedere and I was very happy. I first lived in Cheshunt Road and then when my nan died we moved to Barnfield Road. I went to Bedonwell School and Northumberland Heath School. My vivid memory is going to the Co-op in Nuxley Road with my nan to cash up her tin cheques and having them entered into her Co-op savings book. Also opposite was a sweet shop where you could get sherbet flying saucers. I remember the Woodyard, the fish shop opposite Dormans and All Saints Church where my mother was married. It was a great time to be a child and I have such wonderful memories I could write all day. Beryl nee Campbell
