Beverley, The War Memorial 1927

Myself and my sister recall our father visiting Beverley many, many years ago. We guess that this would have been before he was married in 1935. We are trying to find the reason why he went from his home in Goodmayes, Essex all the way to Beverley, which would have been a long journey. I was born in Beverley in August 1963 and my parents Gladys and Arthur Marchant lived at 16 Waterside Road, which I assume from other contributors used to be Beck Road South. I remember Barkers and Lee Smith animal feed mill across the road from where I lived and Crane Hill. I worked in Toll Gavel from 1967 thru 1973 at Greenwoods Menswear which used to be next to Mackmans Bakers. I used to have their meat pie dinners on a silver foil tray and they were yummy and cheap.
