More about this scene
An interesting collection of old cars can be seen along the left-hand side of the road next to the tea rooms on the main street of this pleasant village. Its claim to fame are the Siamese twins pictured on the village sign (not visible on the photograph); known as Eliza and Mary, they were born joined at the shoulder and hip and lived together like this for 30 years. When one died, the other refused to be separated, and died a few hours later. There is no trace of their burial in the village churchyard. The church itself was restored in 1857, and has features dating from the Early?English to?late Perpendicular periods.
