Collecting Parafin
A Memory of Bishops Lydeard.
I remember well having to walk from Greenway estate to collect parafin from the machine outside of the garage on the right. Every day we walked to school in the village and we would call into the shop and spend our pennies on sweets, ice pops on the way home if it was hot.

I grew up in Bishops Lydeard and have so many wonderful memories of the village, school, railway station etc. I lived in the bungalow "Mayfield" which was the last house but one in the village on the right before the bend going up to Ash Priors Common.
