Living In Tin Town
A Memory of Blakelaw.
We lived in the prefabs in Blakelaw near Kenton Bar for nearly 20yrs. Sometimes all the kids in the neighbourhood used to walk to Ponteland for the day! Not be allowed these days.I went to Hilton School then Firfield girls school, the boys school was opposite. Some friends lived near the Ballon pub and we were sent to the off-Licence to buy beer and crisps (with a note of course) to take back for the parents. Happy days. We lived in Farnham Way beside the big playing field. Anyone else from there? They might remember that the bus conductor used to call out Tin Town!! when they got to the prefabs!
