Remembering

A Memory of Bognor Regis.

I remember that, I was doing my paper round, knee deep in snow , heard such a noise only to see the end of the pier disappearing in to the sea, I also remember the sea was frozen in parts

Living now in USA I was born in London at the age of 4 we moved to Bognor where my grandparents live. It was just after WWII. From 1951-1957 I lived w/them at 2a Queens Square LOVED IT!! The greatest of memories are from that time My GF worked for Civil working at PKG LOTS and giving deckchairs on PROMENADE. I was then 6yrs-10yrs old Going to Hotham Park everyday, hitting Bognors Library w/GF Bognor back in those days was terrific. Butlins was just voted approval Thats what killed Bognor Regis. It's a cheap carnival BUT, I have my memories, and they are wonderful
While in the US Marines I had the opportunity to return to Bognor for a few days..........How sad
