More about this scene
The Bowder Stone, a 2,000-ton boulder which was transported to near Grange-in-Borrowdale by Ice Age glaciers, has been a source of wonder tourists for centuries. Its name is said to have come from Balder, son of the Norse God Odin. Today the stone is surrounded by trees. There is still a wooden staircase to reach the top.
