Pantyfedwen, as I remember it from 1971, was the women's Hall of Residence for the College of Librarianship, Wales. By the time I lived there, briefly in the Autumn Term of 1971, it was in the process of being decommissioned, as the College had built new Halls of Residence on the Llanbadarn Campus, in Aberystwyth, although the opening had been delayed. I came to Borth at the age of 15. I was with a youth group of baptists from Rogerstone, Newport in Gwent. We stayed for a week at The Grand Hotel. We had religous education in the mornings and then the rest of the day was ours on the beach. We gathered on the beach in the evening time for communal hymn singing! How we must have terrified the locals! It was a lovely week and I made a lot of new friends. Lovely memory. Were you there too?
