The church is featured on the Bayeux Tapestry, that great 11th-century depiction of the Norman Conquest. Bosham was a royal manor owned by Earl Harold, later the last Anglo-Danish king of England, who is shown praying here before sailing for Normandy in 1064. This view of the Anglo-Saxon tower with its 15th-century shingled broach spire is seen past farm buildings, now converted to houses, while the field has become a yacht park.
