More about this scene
The fine tower and spire of St Peter's Church dominated much of central Bournemouth, until unkind planners allowed the construction of too many large buildings nearby. This was the site of the original parish church until it was replaced in the 1840s. Mary Shelley, the author of 'Frankenstein', is buried in the churchyard with the heart of her husband, Percy Bysshe Shelley.
