Shop At The Top

A Memory of Bramshott.

At the top of this short road was a village shop, we would get lollies in there. Across the road to "the Hollow" [ now completely overgrown] and then on to Limes Close to see friends.
Boris Karloffs house at the bottom of this view.
Stories of ghost sightings had a huge appeal to us kids then but in the 50+ years I have been along that area I'm still waiting.
This view has changed little apart from the parked cars all the way up.
The river below was a favourite for us kiddies, paddling by the bridge , poo sticks, spotting the water voles, sadely never see them these days.

im sure the locals would love to hear tales.
if anyone has any please email me emily@emilymartin.co.uk
"Shop at the top" I hate to say this but this title is misleading. The hill starts on Tunbridge Lane north bound just passed Boris's House the shop was half way up, passing the shop we arrive at the top of the hill to the right is The Hollow and to the left was a house owned by the Cliffords. When Boris first moved in around 62/63 ish myself and a friend were invited in, there were 2/3 rows of seats and we sat down while the builders knocked down a wall and discovered a staircase. I remember turning round and seeing this elderly gentleman, he smiled and I turned back. My friend had explained how scary he was but those weren't my feelings :)
