Boston Manor Part 1
A Memory of Brentford.
I have noticed a lack of memories of Boston Manor although it has a underground station and a sizeable population. I will start with the shops I remember in the 1950/60. Going towards Hanwell on the right hand side there was an estate agents. Next was Renee hairdressers. The International stores (a sort of little Sainsburys). Baden & Hill electrical stores which had an area where you could step inside it may have been called Ketts though. Then there was an ironmongers, of which I forget the name. Next was Eddies Hair Styles. Also a restaurant. Then there were some allotments before coming to the Royal pub which is now a Harvester. Turning right the was the Royal off licence. Further along was the SEARCHLIGHT which was were a searchlight was based in the war but was then used as a sort of cooperative where people could buy seeds, tools, and fertiliser for their allotments. Going back to opposite the estate agents was the Chain Garage
