Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

Please Note: Our offices and factory are now closed until Monday 5th January when we will be pleased to deal with any queries that have arisen during the holiday period.

More about this scene

In 1846 the Shropshire Union Canal Co was formed by the amalgamation of several companies. The main canal ran from Whitby, now Ellesmere Port on the Mersey, to Autherley near Wolverhampton, through 46 sets of locks. Brewood is situated five miles along the canal from its junction with the Staffordshire & Worcestershire.

I was brought up in Brewood, in the cottage which is called South View and later next door in what is now 38 Shop Lane. There were four children in our family, I had  two older brothers and a younger sister. Our friends came from the cottages (some no longer standing) in Shop Lane, and Horsebrook Lane.
