More about this scene
This shows pre-war motoring at its peak, moving both ways up and down West Street, which was the A35 main road. The shop beside TK 813 is W Frost (right), stationer, bookseller and printer who still ran a circulating library. Further up the street (centre right) are signs for Roberts grocers and E Lewis, a glass and china dealer. A Morris 12 is parked beside the first lime tree (left) and Riley 9 is parked beside the bus-stop (right of centre).
