More about this scene
As its name implies, this lovely Georgian town was once a port, though its harbour is now two miles away at West Bay. In earlier centuries Bridport was famed for the quality of the ropes and fishing nets made there. In more recent times it has become the shopping centre for West Dorset and a development site for light industry.
