More about this scene
Though it opened in 1899, the 1800-seater theatre at the southern end was not completed until 1901, a full decade after work on the Palace Pier began. A pavilion and winter garden was added to the pier's centre in 1910. The theatre was dismantled in 1986, but was not replaced as had been planned.
