More about this scene

The poet Percy Bysshe Shelley, eldest son of Sir Timothy Shelley MP, was born on 4 August 1792 at Field Place in Warnham, where he spent his childhood. Parts of the house date from the medieval period, but it has been greatly altered over the years, and was restored in the 1920s. There was parkland on the estate by 1795, which by 1813 contained three lakes.
