More about this scene
Rows of stone cottages and rolling farmland characterise Brookhouse, which is close to Caton with Littledale and a popular retreat for commuters to Lancaster. New houses appeared between 1950 and 1960. Brookhouse has a plague stone at Bull Beck Bridge near the Black Bull Inn, and is proud of its proximity to Crook O' Lune, the famous beauty spot painted by Joseph Mallord Turner RA.
