The 'Elettra', Marconi's yellow-funnelled steam yacht, is moored in front of Brownsea Castle. At this time the island was owned by Charles Van Raalte, who the previous year had changed the name of the island from Branksea to Brownsea to avoid confusion with Branksome on the mainland.
