More about this scene

Extensive development and infilling has transformed the village into more of a suburb of Hinckley today. The Infantryman memorial is still central to this view of the Anchor Inn and Bailey's the butcher's; note the little child passing the unmarked post office.

A Selection of Memories from Burbage

For many years now, we've been inviting visitors to our website to add their own memories to share their experiences of life as it was, prompted by the photographs in our archive. Here are some from Burbage

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

My mum Elizabeth Green, aged 92, nee Truslove. Would like to know if it was possible to find out anything about her Father, George Truslove. He was born & lived in Burbage befor moving to Leicester in the early 1900's. He had a large family of 11 children, his wife was Pheobe Dyer. I can provide dates. We would love to hear from any Trusloves or other related families. Kind regards, Melvyn
