Friendliest Town
A Memory of Burnham.
I moved to Burnham from a town on the Kent coast where, if you hadn't been to school there you were not worth accepting. The first time I shopped in the village in Burnham a woman spoke to me as I looked in he meat cabinet in Halls, I took no notice not realising she was talking to me. No one had ever spoken to me in a shop before! When I sat at the bus stop by the green another woman spoke to me! I was flabbergasted. That was in 1970. I fell in love with Burnham, the people are the friendliest I have ever known. Su Knight
