Trying To Fill In My Grandpa's Past

A Memory of Burnt Oak.

I am the granddaughter to a man who used to live in Burnt Oak, and was born in 1935. He was unfortunately born out of wedlock and his mother never told him the name of his father. Due to some research by myself and some small snippets of information given to him, we believe his father was the baker with the last name Poole who owned the Caller and Poole bakery, The Broadway (perhaps called the Royal Bakery?).

It is the biggest question that my Grandpa has never been able to answer and I have tried greatly to find anything I can to fill in this gap of his life for him. I was hoping if anyone has any memories or knowledge of this bakery and the man that owned it during this time (around 1890-1930s) would kindly share with me? Any small piece of information would be most appreciated.

Thank you

Have you thought of DNA testing with Ancestry.com. They seem to be matching up lots of lost relatives. Good Luck.
We have thought about this however as his father was not on his birth certificate or any other documentation, we’re unsure if that would work. Do you know if they could do it without this?
