More about this scene
The shop had been run by Robert Hazelwood since the 1880s. His son Robert and his grandchildren continued at the shop and post office until its closure in September 1975. The wooden buildings were replaced by a house in the 1980s. Through the telegraph pole we can see the roof of the former forge, owned for many years by the Burch family.
