More about this scene
Tucked between Crummock Water and Buttermere lake, the village is set in imposing Lakeland scenery. The small stock enclosure which goes across the Sail Beck was probably used for sheep washing in the summer, before shearing got underway. On the right are the rear elevations of the Fish Inn.
