More about this scene
In the distance, the tower of St Paul's church peers above the roof of the Globe Hotel. Nearby is the Perse School, established in 1625, and moved here from Free School Lane in 1890. Also nearby and out of view is the Scott Polar Research Institute, founded as a memorial to Captain Scott and his colleagues who died in their expedition to the South Pole.
