More about this scene
Set on the banks of the River Yare, Cantley is dominated by its sugar refinery, which was built to process local beet. Customers at The Red House could not only see its smoke but also watch a steady stream of vessels hauling freights up to Norwich. There is a fine church with a Norman doorway.
