Hi. Anyone have pics of Carlisle Great Fair. Ideally pics of the WW2 Army vehicles that were in the big parade past the town hall. Many thank. Bill.
Hi Does any one have any pics of the Carlisle Great Fair, late 1970s. Or the year where there quite a lot of WW2 trucks, Jeeps, Fire Engines and even a WW2 German Kubel Car. We all met up in the Castle first, then we followed the main floats on a tour of the city. Would love to see pics if any one has any.   Thanks.  
I was born in the village of Etterby in January 47 which was one of the worst winters on record. Spent some of the happiest years of my life there playing and fishing by the river Eden with my friends; Ian Ballantine and John Mitchell, whose family had a small holding on land next to their house on Stainton Road. My brother, Brian Ridding (Hoss), laid this mosaic. Sadly he died on 2nd June 2010, age 52. Everywhere I walk in this city, there is a reminder of him, whether it be above or below ground.
