It Was There In Wartime Uk
A Memory of Caunton.
It was there in 1944 September where I was born. The place was a farm where my parents worked - a sentry was posted to vet people entering or leaving the farm.
No doubt the oil field on the farm pumping oil in wartime uk, aided in its lack of identity. A recent 1990's visit found the farm buildings in ruins, the oilfield most likely held in reserve etc .something else disappearing into history.
