More about this scene

The road leads downwards and eastwards from opposite the Charmouth House Hotel (right), to Hardown Hill and Stonebarrow Hill (centre), where it climbs through Morecombeland. The view looks from the junction with Higher Sea Lane, below Old Lyme Road and Old Lyme Hill, from where earlier generations of roads headed towards Lyme Regis - but they slipped over the cliff in landslides at the Devil's Bellows, beside Black Ven. A poster in the shop window is for the re-opening of the organ and choir gallery in St Andrew's Parish Church.

A Selection of Memories from Charmouth

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

I was delighted to find this photograph as the Edward Archer Vince who owned the shop shown and mentionned in the text was my Great Great Grandfather and my Great Grandfather Frederick Harold Vince grew up here.....
