Cheltenham, High Street 1906

More about this scene
Trams first trundled down Cheltenham's streets on 22 August 1901. By the end of the 1920s they had been rendered redundant by the quicker, go-anywhere buses, and the trams were withdrawn in 1930. The High Street is the original part of Cheltenham. On old maps the name Cheltenham Street appears, because until the building boom of the Spa years there was little more of the town than this.
