More about this scene
We are at the eastern edge of the Ashdown Forest. Not far away are Chelwood Vachery, a re-created hall-house originally called Trimmer's Pond, and Kidbrooke Park, a much altered and decorated house with gardens laid out by Repton. Charles Abbot lived and died here; he was speaker of the House of Commons at the time of the Battle of Waterloo. Sun House is in modern style, built in 1931
