More about this scene
Taken from the footbridge over the river, the towerless Christchurch was designed by Raphael Brandon and dates from the 1860s. Built to serve the 'new' industrial settlement along the river, the flint church is in an austere Early English Gothic style. Behind are the chimneys of its vicarage, while on the right is the church hall gable, now demolished for the modern close of houses, Trapp Court.
