More about this scene
In this view the photographer is looking upstream towards Chesham. The house withthe two-bay windows replaced the weatherboarded one in view 40547 around 1900. Beyond are workshops and outhouses, now all gone and replaced by 1970s blocks of three-storey flats. In the far distance is the embankment of the Metropolitan Railway branch line and part of its bridge over the river.
