The photographer who took this picture was positioned at the entrance to Cirencester railway station. Dr Beeching axed the line in 1964, although the tall, slim station building can be seen to this day. Said to be the work of I K Brunel, it is a fine example of Great Western Railway Victorian Gothic architecture.
