Answer To Previous Comment On Cleland

A Memory of Cleland.

In answer to the above I’m 66 a week or so younger than Joe Jordan. My grandpa was John PEDEN my mother was his daughter Helen (Ella) my uncles and aunt were Alex, John and May we lived at 50main Street in Commy Paterson’s building my mothers uncle Jimmy (Buckle) KERR and aunt Lizzie lived upstairs Grace and Dougie THOMPSON were next door to them on one side and Curries in the other when they moved out my mothers cousin Alex and his wife got the flat then after them my cousin Betty Vooper and her husband Jim next door to us on one side was Bob JOHNSTON and his family and on the other Scott’s then Jean Ferguson and her daughter Elizabeth then my mothers cousin Betty FELVUS ( of the post office) then latterly aunt Lizzie when Betty and Joe moved to Gorsehall Street we moved out to Glenrothes when my dad started working at the Michael Pit then the Rothes pit before coming to Doncaster.
My Grandpa was a very active member of Cleland Bowling Club and my mother was presented with a silver Jack when he was president at the opening of the season.
