Punch and Judy, donkey rides, boating and a wooden refreshment hut where the renowned Cleveleys Gingerbreads were sold in 1927 were replaced when Jubilee Gardens was made. A portable water slide and raft were very popular too. These were the great days of Cleveleys Hydro, with its 18-hole golf course and hydropathic baths.

My grandparents took me to Cleveleys,every year for 2 weeks.,from the ag of 2 till I was 16years old.,We stayed at Mrs Faulkners boarding house on Rough Lea Rd.,I loved going to watchthe Follies,.and going to the Queens Theatre.,.,My grandma loved the Olympia Slot Machines.,When I revisited Cleveleys last year how it's changed.,but it's still dear to me as my childhood memories.
I have tried and failed to find any info about the small private school I went to in 1959 to1961. It was called Park School and was on Holmefield ave cleveleys. I was Susan Cope back then and I think the headteacher was Mrs Neil.I was friends with Kathleen Gardner but lost touch with her a long time ago.I would love to hear from anyone from then
I was born in a house in Daisy Bank in 1945,Cartmell was my maiden name and I attended Beach Rd school,does anyone remember the name or school or any special memories of the late 50s.Mine was seeing rock around the clock at the flea pit as we called it.Mr gribble was the manager and he kept us under control with his hook hand.
I was born in Anchorsholme and Cleveleys was where I went as a teenager. The Arena was where I caught my first bit of theatre. I eventually had a 25 year career in theatre which included a spell at London's Players Theatre, the last bastion of Music Hall, reminiscent of The Follies in the Arena
