A Memory of Cliftonville.
I made a very nostalgic visit to Cliftonville yesterday to see my old school Godwin Girls College, 1951 I was seven years old when I first started with my sister eighteen months older, some time ago !!!! it brought back happy memories and realisation of how small I must have been as the building was much smaller than in my memory.
There were pupils from many different countries who were unable to go home in the holidays because of troubles in the world, in that regard not much has changed.
The academic education was not fantastic music speech and drama, as well as sports featured very high on the list for achievements.
So many buildings now around the school memories of fields are in my minds eye but judging by the architecture some of the houses must have been there.
It is now a building of fallen splendour.
Not knowing about it I did not go to the reunion so sorry to have missed it.
