More about this scene

Colehill comprised only a few scattered cottages until Victorian times, when the first of its population growth spurts led to a demand for church services. Open-air services started in 1880, moving to the temporary 'Iron Church' (known as 'Trotman's Tin Tabernacle' after the officiating minister) in 1881 and eventually to this permanent church, built 1893-95.
