Sgt. Barraclough - a Memory of Compton Bassett.

Was Sgt Barraclough an instructor in the teleprinter and tape-relay sections - who lived just across the road in the married quarters? (name rings bell ) but it was a long time ago - 1957

I did an 8 month Ground Wireless Fitters course (FR7) from about November 1954. Great times - scrumpy - rough cider - was only 6d a pint.

Did two courses at RAF Compton Bassett. First was wireless operator 1953/54. Second was Teleprinter operator (qualify as Teleg II) 1955. Also experienced my first spell on jankers!
