The famous steam cruiser the 'Gondola' is seen here tied up and waiting for passengers at the Waterhead Pier on Coniston Water. The Gondola was built in 1859 to take tourists up and down the lake, but was later neglected and became a rotting hulk before being restored in 1980 by its present owners, the National Trust.
