Cossington, The Village c.1965

More about this scene
An oasis between industrial Syston and unlovely Sileby, the scene has changed little over the years, apart from a stepping-up in volume of motorised traffic. In the village are a good variety of houses, including the early 16th- century rectory and Hallside Grove, a Gothicised house of quality set behind the low wall on the left of the photo- graph. Thank God that 19th- and 20th-century blight has somehow failed to desecrate Cossington.
