A Memory of Coundon.

I remember living in george st west on the new rows
I can remembet the shops there were lots ; the co-op walter wilsons where my aunt worked there was a tv shop post office; sparks shop tben another I cant remember the name then bottom papershop shops on opposite side of road demolished years ago, meadow dairy a cobblers ; fruit shop ; sweet shop spar , 2 butchers bakers which was called woods , barbers called burns, mortons fish shop coal fired ; picture house garages plus corner sops and some in wharton st unbeleavable how many when you think back.My grandparents lived in the prefabs at grey gardens and in the back of my mind I cam remember a small fairground ride coming there and it wasnt electric.there has so much changed over the years my parents live on the old miners homes now .l now live in cornwall but miss my coundon.id love a picture of the prefabs if anybody has 1
