Dagenham Heathway

A Memory of Dagenham.

I am 74 and was born at 4 Northfields gardens on may 11 1947. And remember when my nan lived at 14 Sterry road just off the Heathway She had a Dalmatian called chukie I used to go to Marino’s for sweets and mum and dad took my sister and me to jenners the clothes shop in Broadway I remember a lad called Russell Probert not sure if he lived in Sterry Road or just nearby
My dad worked at Briggs later taken over by fords
Mum and dad met on the heathway in 1937 dad was in the army mum was only 16 they married in March 1940 mum was 18
My sister was born in 1942 I was born in a1947 we moved to Harold hill in 1949
We moved with fords in 1962 to the north west and I am still here with 4 grown up children and 5 grand children

Hi I was born in Northfield Road and then moved to Treswell Road when I was Two.
I went to Arnold Road School and then Goresbrook Secondary School. I rennet Joan Amos, Frank and Mary Balls , anyone know anything about these families?
Frank Balls joined the Navy and I joined the Army We both lived in Treswell Road
I would love to hear from Joan Thompson nee Amos as I think we were at school together at Goresbrook
I was born in a house in the Heathway, no 23. Mum Dad and me moved to a prefab at the end of Church Manorway (can't recall the exact location) then we moved to no178 Sterry Road. I lived there untill I left home at 21 and moved to Kent.
