My Memories Of Hell At Delamare Forest School

A Memory of Delamere.

I was abused at Delamere Forest School by someone called A, he did not care who he interfered with, If it was not me then a younger girl would have been treated the same way. This happened 3 times In 1971 to 1973. Although it cannot be proven the boy was a wild child and knew what he was doing, The Headmaster could not understand why I left in a hurry, as soon as mum found out she she took me out, my father could not cope with any of it , he just blamed me for it all. He said you encouraged it and went on and on about it. The headmaster and the staff were dreadful in their approach to vulnerable children , from the moment I was there I hated it we shared cubicles 4 beds to one, the main room was very long, the only decent thing there was a woman called Billie Roth who was wonderful, all the staff were brutal to all the children. If one child was naughty the whole school was told off. The boys were I understand were ok, it was the girls that were causing concern meaning there was a lot of bullying going on, the boss was a big big bully who was in charge and that was all there is to it. the Staff has no idea how to treat children. They played against the childrens fears it was a nightmare to those that were there it did happen and I hope and wish all those who know me well. The Jewish Community needs to know,
of the hell that went on. We were forced to do girl guide the lady doing that was dreadful may she rot in hell, she never talked to any of the girls,

Comments & Feedback

I have seen a d heard a lot of comments on delamere. 4 were positive. The rest were horrible. I just hope all those who ha e had horrible memories can come to terms with them eventually. If you cant I suggest you investigate complex PTSD if you gave not heard the term before.
Yes miriam most kids hated delamere. Kids were sent there because their parents couldnt cope. Social workers should have tried to keep kids in the family ths jswish papers then wouldnt print anything hostile about the place. I dont know if we could start a discussion now. There is actually a case for collecting experiences and transforming them into a book
