I'm Estelle. I used to work for the Jewish Chronicle. I tried to get people to talk about Delamere a long time ago because l wanted to start a critical discussion. Unfortunately I didn't get enough response but met two ladies who were happy there. My brother went there and a few of my friends. Delamere changed over the years but for most children then over 40 years ago, it was very traumatic. Children were often sent there because their parents couldnt cope. It was well known that if you'd been there your education was trashed. Delamere no longer exists. It's a pile of bricks and the forest is a few trees round a car park. Just a pity we didn't get a critical dis ushion in the Jewish press.
