More about this scene

Caption for Drayton Bassett, The Green C1965: The B & F route also relied on the Oxford Canal, agreeing to complete its route to the Thames if Grand Trunk built the Coventry section from Whittington to Fradley. The problem with the Coventry Canal Co was that by 1771 they had only completed as far as Atherstone when the money ran out. Drayton Bassett is situated four miles south of Tamworth.
